BIAW designed the Certified Builder designation with home building leaders in mind. It not only creates a legacy of responsibility for those whose work experience and business practices exceed Washington state standards, but it also propels their business to a new level of recognition and reward.

BIAW offers seminars and workshops addressing issues affecting the home building industry, such as:

• Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead
• Aging-in-Place
• Contracts and lien law; building codes, and much more

Since its inception, BIAW has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships and grants to students who have demonstrated a passion and commitment to developing a career in the home building industry.

BIAW also offers funding grants to organizations offering programs in construction-related fields of study, residential construction career training, continuing education, apprenticeship and skills assessment services, and technical training programs educating tomorrow's home builders.
