BIAW Communications welcomes new designer, digital media manager
January 18, 2021
The BIAW Communications team is excited to welcome two new professionals to BIAW!
Lena Anderson, Graphic Design Specialist
An award winning designer from North Central Washington, Lena Anderson has spent the last six years developing her passion for visual communication. Her background includes print and digital design, user experience research, marketing, web development, video production, and photography.
After graduating from Principia College with a degree in Mass Communication, she joined the Omak-Okanogan County Chronicle staff as an advertising consultant and graphic designer. There she designed two book layouts commemorating the historic Washington wildfires of 2014 and 2015. She also introduced video storytelling after producing a 45-minute documentary for the City of Pateros.
After moving west of the Cascades, Lena solidified her passion for design while spearheading countless successful design projects working at an event planning company, at a global LED lighting manufacturer, and as a freelancer. In the two years, she has also led several adventurous operations as a certified commercial drone pilot.
Lena currently resides in Auburn with her husband. She loves breakfast, cats, playing music, snowboarding and paddle boarding.
Andy Arrants, Digital Media and Content Manager
After working for roughly three years at the Kitsap Building Association as Membership and Communications Director, Andy Arrants joins BIAW today as our new digital media and content manager.
At the Kitsap Building Association, Andy created content and posted updates on the KBA website, produced the weekly KBA Tuesday Toolbox e-newsletter and managed the monthly KBA Newsletter inside of the Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal (produced by the Kitsap Sun newspaper).
He also managed all KBA digital and print publications for their events, such as the Expo-Guide for the Peninsula Home and Garden Show and the Digital Magazine for the Virtual Tour of Homes. He also built the KBA Virtual Tour of Homes website and directed and produced the video walk-through.
He has more than 10 years of experience in non-profit sector communications, public relations, and video and audio production. Andy and his wife live in Port Orchard.
Andy and Lena fill vacancies left by the promotions of Leah Jaber, ROII’s new marketing manager, and designer Brenda Kwieciak, who will be taking over Administrative Services Director Jan Rohila’s position when Jan retires.
Writer and Editor Bailee Wicks also has a new title, Communications Manager, to reflect the new social media and other duties she assumed after Leah’s promotion.
We are blessed to have their knowledge and expertise as we welcome our new team members!
