Professional Women in Building (PWB) councils celebrate PWB Week 2024

It’s time to celebrate PWB Week 2024! The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) Week starts Sept. 9 and continues through Sept. 13.
With six Professional Women in Building councils in Washington alone, there are lots of opportunities to celebrate this week and in the months to come.
National PWB Chair Luellen Smith from the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) recently announced plans for PWB Week 2024 with a short video:
Celebrate PWB Week 2024 locally
Kitsap Building Association September Membership meeting with Kimberley Martin
- 11 – 1 pm on Sept. 11 at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club
- In honor of Professional Women in Building Week, Kimberley will share her journey and insights on creating opportunities for women in the industry.
Master Builders Association of Pierce County Concrete Connections with PWB
- 3:30 – 5:30 pm on Sept. 11 at Ebony & Ivory Coffee and Wine Bar in Tacoma
- Concrete Connections offers members a space for unscripted conversations and socializing. This unhosted monthly get-together is free and open to all.
Building Industry Association of Clark County (BIACC) PWB – Designed for Success
- 4 – 6 pm on Sept. 11 at the GRO Parade of Homes Designer Day
- The BIACC PWB Council invites PWB members from across Washington and the Portland Metro area to attend a happy hour and fashion show at the GRO Parade of Homes Designer Day from 4-6 pm on Sept. 11. Sponsored by Floor City, the event will be $30. The PWB Council encourages people to bring lightly used or new women’s career clothes to donate to the YWCA. Purchase tickets.
Master Builders Pierce PWB Nordstrom Fashion Show
- 8:30 to 11 am on Sept. 15 at Nordstrom, 4502 South Steele St. #800, Tacoma
- Join the Master Builders Association of Pierce County’s Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council at Nordstrom in Tacoma for a private Fall Business Wear fashion show. Come out and enjoy mimosas, giveaways and raffles as you learn the latest trends for business casual office wear.
Olympia Master Builders PWB Food for Thought with the Millionaire Real Estate Mom
- 11:30 am – 1 pm on Sept. 19 at the River’s Edge in Tumwater
- OMB’s PWB Council welcomes Rebecca Del Pozo, founder of Millionaire Real Estate Mom.™ A dyslexic, ADHD, single mom with no college degree, Del Pozo was determined to become a millionaire. Now she’s passionate about helping others do the same. She’ll share her tips on sharing life and balance as a rockstar mom.
Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties PWB Conference
- 11 am – 4 pm on Oct. 10 at the Glendale County Club in Bellevue
- The MBAKS PWB invites you to an afternoon of networking and professional development. Nationally recognized speaker, Morgan Burch, shares how to stop coping and start connecting through the SEEN Method.

PWB welcomes anyone who wants to help support and develop opportunities for women in the trades.
Washington now has PWB Councils at the following local associations:

- MBA of Pierce County
- BIA of Whatcom County
If there’s a council in your area and you’d like to join, reach out to your local association for more information. Members without a local council can join PWB directly as an at-large member for $50 per year.
