Construction prioritized for vaccine eligibility
March 22, 2021
The Governor moved the construction industry into eligibility for COVID-19 vaccines effective March 31. This is a change BIAW has been seeking for some time–and we’ve clarified that eligibility applies broadly to anyone in our industry, regardless of whether they work directly on a jobsite.
Already three million Washington residents are eligible for the vaccine. In an announcement this afternoon, the Governor expanded vaccine eligibility to another two million people, including those:
- With two or more comorbidities;
- Between the ages of 60 and 64;
- Living in congregate settings (correctional facilities, group homes for those with disabilities, those experiencing homelessness, etc.);
- Workers in congregate settings (restaurants, manufacturing, construction) who are not already eligible.
You can find out what vaccination phase you’re in and also find locations with vaccines available on the Department of Health’s Vaccine Information page.
The Governor also announced extension of the eviction moratorium through June 30, 2021 and a return to visitation at long-term care and nursing facilities. Read more here.
