EIR Award Winner Deacon Band Q&A

At the annual reception on June 19th at the BIAW Summer Board meeting in Yakima, BIAW announced 27 winners and four honorable mentions for the 2019 EIR Awards. One of the winners and a first-time EIR Award applicant, Deacon Band, owner of Band Construction, did a Q&A with BIAW to talk about his experience.

EIR Award: Entire House $400,001-$600,000

How many years have you been in the remodeling business? 20 years.

What is your favorite part about your job? “ Working with my employees, I enjoy team building, training and just having a good time with our people. We maintain a healthy safe and supportive environment for our team.”

Why did you apply to the EIR awards? “ We won the same category locally and had heard about the EIR awards through Kathy at SHBA.”

Are you a first-time applicant? Yes.

How long did it take for your winning remodel(s) to be completed (start-finish)? 4 months.

Do you plan on applying next year? Yes, we plan to apply again.

How did it feel to win? “It feels good considering the competition is high. So many excellent projects to run up against.”
