(OLYMPIA) – Building industry associations across Washington have scheduled new I-2066 Super Signing Events as supporters work to gather the 405,000 signatures they need to make sure the initiative makes the November ballot.
Initiative 2066: Protect Energy Choice protects reliable, affordable energy choices like natural gas and propane and prohibits gas bans in Washington.
“Powerful political interests have set their sights on banning natural gas in Washington,” said Greg Lane, Executive Vice President of the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW). “Initiative 2066 protects natural gas and propane as energy choices now and into the future and prohibits natural gas bans in any form, at any time and at any level of government in the state.
“But we need to gather hundreds of signatures to qualify the initiative for the November ballot. We encourage everyone who cares about protecting natural gas and propane as energy choices to attend a super signing event, sign the initiative and encourage all your friends and family to do it, too!”
Supporters are working to collect 405,000 signatures by the July 5 deadline to get the measure on the November ballot.

- Ferndale Events Center (5715 Barrett Road, Ferndale): June 12 from 6-7 pm
- Olympia Master Builders (State Avenue Northeast, Olympia): June 14 from 7 – 10 am and 12 – 2 pm
- Farrelli’s Pizza (Grand Loop, Ruston, WA): June 15 from 9 am to 2 pm
- Kitsap Mall Food Court (Kitsap Mall, Silverdale Way Northwest, Silverdale)
- Saturday, June 15 – 11 am to 7 pm
- Sunday, June 16 – Noon to 6 pm
- Saturday, June 22 – 11 am to 7 pm
- Sunday, June 23 – Noon to 6 pm
- Home Builders Association of Tri-Cities (West Clearwater Avenue, Kennewick): June 21 from 3:30 – 5:30 pm
- Hotel Indigo, Vancouver (On the sidewalk next to the valet): June 22 from 10 am to 2 pm
