National scholarship deadline approaches

The National Association of Home Builders has two scholarship opportunities for qualified students pursuing building-related careers. Deadline to apply: April 4.

• Strategies for Success Scholarship: NAHB Professional Women in Building (PWB) past national president Deborah Ferland and Austin Ferland established this scholarship for full-time students with at least one full academic year of coursework left after they receive the scholarship. Applicants unable to afford a college education without financial assistance will be prioritized. High school seniors are not eligible.
• Building Hope Scholarship: This scholarship is open to any full-time or part-time college or trade school student with at least one course or trade related program remaining after the scholarship is received. It was launched in 1955 by Hope S. Bettilyon, former president of the NAHB Women’s Auxiliary, precursor to the PWB council.
