Meet newest Certified Builder, Traci Tenhulzen

Traci Tenhulzen’s career started in the building industry as an owner and manager of a safety training and consultation company, Safety Resource, from 1998-2007. As a Washington Workers’ Compensation Professional providing continuing credits, her company provided training in all aspects of safety for the BIAW office. At the time, Tenhulzen’s company was the only nationally certified woman-owned business in the northwest.
Once the Tenhulzens had a son, Matthew, Traci started a new journey with her husband, Mike, and sold Safety Resource. They now run Tenhulzen Residential, a design and build residential remodeling firm located in Woodinville, Wash. As a company, they won National Association of Home Builders’ SAFE Award twice.
Tenhulzen, a member of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties since 1998, plans to lead the local association as President in 2023. During her presidency, her goals include enhancing the relationships with BIAW and NAHB.
Tenhulzen’s achievements go beyond the building industry, she climbed Mount Rainier to Columbia Crest, the true summit, twice and was a rafting guide for 16 years with NW River Riders. In 2020, Tenhulzen completed her Masters Degree in Business and Human Resources from Southern New Hampshire University obtaining a 3.89 GPA.
