Don’t forget: Wage and hour survey deadline June 30

June 21, 2024

The Department of Labor and Industries (L&I) recently sent a reminder that the deadline to submit your completed wage and hour survey is June 30.

Survey participation is voluntary. However, the results will be used to establish prevailing wages that accurately reflect current wages for residential construction by area.

Wage and hour survey

L&I’s wage and hour survey helps set prevailing wage rates for seven trades involved in residential construction. The survey covers all work performed on public or private residential construction projects between Oct. 1, 2022 and Sept. 30, 2023.

They are surveying the following:

  • Carpenters
  • Drywall Applicators
  • Drywall Tapers
  • Glaziers
  • Insulation Applicators
  • Painters
  • Soft Floor Layers

Survey participation

L&I identified registered contractors who represented workers in these trades, or whose license status would allow the company to perform this work during the survey period. These contractors were mailed a survey announcement letter. Interested parties may also fill out a survey on behalf of contractors, see WAC 296-127-019 (4)(c&d).
