Wage Lien Bill Dies at Cutoff
February 20, 2020
The House of Origin cutoff was finalized yesterday, February 19, at 5 p.m. and BIAW is elated to announce that SB 6053, the wage liens bill has died.
The wage liens bill would make employees file a lien for unpaid wages against an employer’s personal or business property along with the property of any officers of the company even though there are systems in place for Washington employees to file wage complaints with the Department of Labor & Industries.
A huge thank you to our Advocacy team for their hard work during this crucial legislative session. For more information on what bills are dead and which are still moving, please read our Legislative Cutoff Update.
