Welcome new Additions to the BIAW Team
October 5, 2020
BIAW is happy to announce two new additions to the government affairs team. Please welcome Josie Cummings and Damen Jeg.
Josie Cummings, Government Affairs Assistant Director:
After graduating from Seattle Pacific University, Cummings spent two sessions working at the Washington State Senate. She joined BIAW’s government affairs team in 2016 as the Government Affairs Coordinator and then the Government Affairs Manager. After spending the last legislative session covering 13 western states for the American Forest and Paper Association, Cummings is thrilled to be back at BIAW as the Assistant Director of Government Affairs, focusing on the association’s environmental policy. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, learning about and drinking natural wine, and kayaking.
Damen Jeg, Government Affairs Coordinator:
Jeg’s interest in public policy and advocacy stems from his upbringing in agriculture in Chehalis. Having noticed a gap between farmers and legislators in high school, Jeg decided to pursue a career in government affairs. After graduating from Washington State University in 2018, Jeg traveled to Washington D.C. to work in government affairs with the Hearth Patio and Barbecue Association. After returning to Washington state in late 2019, he focused on finding a role to work in state and local politics and is excited to join BIAW’s government affairs team. When Jeg is not in the office, you can find him outdoors hiking or helping out on his family’s dairy farm.
