The 2025 legislature will be focused on floor action now through March 12. Here’s a look at which pro-building bills still live on—and all the bad bills BIAW is still working to defeat.
Pro-housing bills still alive:
· SB 5729 - Encouraging construction of affordable housing by allowing a licensed and insured design professional stamp to represent a complete permit application.
· SB 5559 - Streamlining the subdivision process inside urban growth areas.
· HB 1096 - Lot splitting
· HB 1403- Simplifying condominium construction laws
· HB 1935 - Project permit definition
· SB 5461 - Intensive rural dev. Areas
· SB 5719 – Hearing examiners
· HB 1160- Local gov. design review
· SB 5554/HB 1576- Historic landmark designations
· HB 1857 - Exempting certain commercial aggregates from asbestos rules
· SB 5611 - Land use permitting workload
· SB 5470/HB 1345 - Detached ADUs
· SB 5542 - Expanding tuition waivers for CTC
· SB 5552 - Kit homes/building codes
· HB 1414 - CTE careers work group
· SB 5408 - Wage and Salary disclosure

· HB 1015 - Energy labeling/residential
· HB 1213 – Expanding PFML
· SB 5041 – Unemployment for striking workers
· HB 1402 – Prohibits some employers from posting driver’s license requirements
· HB 1644 – Expanding penalties for minor workers
· HB 1788 – Increasing workers comp costs
· HB 1392 – Putting a premium tax on health plans
· HB 1308- Requiring employers to furnish personnel records
· HB 1155 – Prohibiting noncompete agreements
